Coltrain was stated as saying, “Amber is amazing and has outstanding talent.” The showcases, organized by Coltrain and local award-winning author and songwriter, Peggy Mercer, are held several times a year in Nashville and Austin, Texas. They are known as being a catalyst in launching careers for rising stars in country music. Amber plans to travel back to Nashville during the summer to perform at several other venues including the Nashville Palace.
Amber recently cut a four-track country-pop demo CD at Sonrise Recording Studios in Tennessee with Terry Weeks producing. Over Christmas break, she recorded her frst single Something I Won’t Regret. The song was written by Max McGee and Rolf Shynder and sent to Amber. The frst time she heard it she knew it was meant for her.” It felt right,” she said. “The words, the tune, everything about it was what I wanted in my frst single.” She was given the exclusive rights to record the song and she has performed it several times.
This is just the beginning for Amber. She has what it takes to make it. She has the talent, the guidance and the family support. Her dad, Wesley, sums it up, “Amber is not in this for the competition as many people try to make it. Amber loves it. She wants to sing. That is the focus of our family for her. We want her to sing and enjoy what she is doing. As long as that is happening, we will support her and be there for her every step of the way.” When Amber is asked how she will know she has fnally made it, she replies, "When I’m able to perform on an awards show, I will know I’ve made it.” Rest assured when she does, she will have her family and Gloria Caves in the crowd cheering the loudest and smiling the biggest.
