Former Midland resident takes lessons he learned here to build a successful

career.

e has worked in hospital administration from Las Vegas to Houston in his thus far 15-year career.

But Midland gave him the impetus and the beginnings of a skillset he still uses. Cory Countryman, a shining star in the healthcare feld, gives much of the credit for his success to the dozen years he spent in Midland. “It was very formative for me, as far as the importance of relationship building, friendliness and community.” Countryman said. “I always really like the people here. I think Midland has a very strong work ethic that was instilled in me by being out here.”

Countryman moved to the Permian Basin when he was three and stayed here until he was 15. Though now 38, he still has friends and fond memories of the time he spent here.

“I remember having a lot of friends,” he said. “And all the wide open spaces. It seems like we were always doing things outside.” Now the Chief Executive Offcer at Weatherford Regional Medical Center in North Texas, Countryman claims a chance encounter
