The area around the aurant was decidedly rural, complete h a dairy farm not too far away. On nday afternoons, Brenda and her family ould stop by, and she would order a foot-ng hot dog. Her parents would get a hicken box, and they would go home to atch Bonanza. She had no idea that one ay she would own the very restaurant he was visiting.
Fast forward a few decades. Jesup s a very different place. The area around the Dairy Ranch is no longer farmland. The dairy farm is long gone, and the Rayonier Mill is just a mile or two away. However, the Dairy Ranch n its original location, and it still serves ed in Jesup and Wayne County since the Dairy Ranch opened in 1953, but the restaurant itself has remained remarkably consistent. It’s something that Brenda and her family are very proud of, and she has devoted herself to preserving the legacy of one of Jesup’s oldest restaurants.
The Dairy Ranch has had four owners in its 58-year history. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson had the Dairy Ranch until 1971, when Mr. and Mrs. Miley Roberts took over. The Roberts family owned it for just four years before they sold it to Eddie Lane. Brenda married Eddie’s youngest son, Billy.
