Even with such favor, there was opposition. There were continual threats of burning their crops, and some even guarded felds with machetes when it was time for planting. It wasn’t Bethel Children’s Home they were against, per se, but that the children living there often converted to the Christian faith from their native roots. This they found threatening.

Amos Moses was born into his parents’ ministry, and quite accustomed to living communally among other children. Before he was of age to leave for college, the children’s homes had spread all over India, and over 7,000 children had been rescued from life on the streets. ”If you attend Ambassador Baptist College I will pay for your schooling,” an American told him while on a ministry trip with his father to the United States, and so the door opened to move overseas.
