earshot of our tape player.” Amos and Timothy had recorded their neighbors entire plan to assassinate their mother and father with machetes, which was to occur that night! Amos’ uncle and the ministry staff immediately ran to warn them - one ran one way, and the other the opposite, and the tragedy was averted. Amos sees this as a constant reminder of God’s protection confrming the calling He has placed on their lives.

Amos has chosen to serve the greater purpose of a greater need. That’s what makes life worth the living. Amos is following the calling that drove his father to fulfll James 1:27: “Pure religion and undefled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affiction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.” It guided his parents’ lives, and now it guides his own. Both his global

missions work and his photography, it turns out, serve the greater purpose of channeling resources and raising awareness of a greater need: that of the widows and orphans.  WCM

Amos Moses was born into his parents’ ministry, and quite accustomed to living communally among other children. Before he was of age to leave for college, the children’s homes had spread all over India, and over 7,000 children had been rescued from life on

the streets.
