His family remembers his story of the time he went to see Mills B. Lane in Atlanta. He knew he was infuential and he wanted him to hear about Douglas. He walked into his offce building with the ham in his arms and asked to see Mr. Lane. Of course, Mr. Lane welcomed him and listened to what he wanted to share. Arthur knew that anyone who could bring the Braves franchise to Atlanta was a good man to get to know.
