at 12:00 on Wednesday at Sybil’s.
Prevention Month. Every year on April 16th, tips on how to make children feel better and parenting tools to use in order to have a peaceful bedtime; in addition, activity books are given away in a national campaign effort to strengthen America’s families. Wayne County Exchange Club facilitates the Believe in the Blue campaign each year. Recently, the Exchange Club has worked with the PCA (Prevention Child Abuse) group of Wayne County in a collaborative effort with DFCS and Family Connection
to lessen the numbers of child abuse seen each year in Wayne County by bringing to the forefront the number of substantiated child abuse cases each year. You may have noticed the pin wheels in front of Wayne Memorial Hospital; these pin wheels are a part of this initiative.
In some cities, Exchange Clubs own and operate facilities for youth activities with the objective of child abuse prevention.
The health and wellbeing of youth
continues to be a central focus of the Wayne County Exchange. Americanism is also demonstrated and common to the Exchange Clubs across the country as members “have big hearts and large commitments.” First, our commitment is to God; this is what keeps us on track. The Exchange meeting is opened with prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
